ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on Engineering Services has been implemented since 2005 and 6,767 Engineers have been registered as ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers (ACPEs) through recognition of education, competency certification/professional registration in the country of origin, and professional engineering experiences. The MRA scheme is intended to facilitate ACPEs to perform cross-border engineering services across ASEAN Member States. However, the utilization of this scheme is still limited as the number of Registered Foreign Professional Engineers (RFPEs) has only been 34 persons.
Considering the situation above, Directorate General of Construction Development of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH) of the Republic of Indonesia as the Advisor of Indonesia Monitoring Committee (IMC) on Engineering Services has arranged to hold the first ACPE Forum which aims to build communication and networks between ACPEs with regulators and engineering industries regarding business opportunities, market access, recognition of competency, foreign professional registration, professional experiences, and professional capacity development which are expected to increase cross-border mobility of ACPEs within ASEAN.
Regarding this matter, we would like to invite representatives of Monitoring Committee (MC) as well as ACPEs from each ASEAN Member States to participate in ACPE Forum, in-person or virtually. For your registration, please kindly complete the link:
