The ASEAN Engineer Excellence Award (AEEA) - 2025

Congratulations to Mr Ireng Guntorojati, ACPE, as the first ASEAN Engineer Excellence Award awardee from Indonesia. The ceremony of the first ASEAN Engineer Excellence Award (AEEA) - 2025 took place at the Gala Dinner hosted by the Viet Nam Monitoring Committee held on Friday, 7 November 2025, at the Grand Ballroom, Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa.

Professional Profile
Mr Ireng Guntorojati is a Senior Bridge Engineer and General Manager at Wiratman Chodai Indonesia with over fifteen years of experience in bridge and infrastructure projects across Southeast Asia. His expertise includes structural analysis, seismic resilience, and the application of innovative materials and construction methods for long-span and complex bridges. He has contributed to major regional projects such as the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge in Vietnam, the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network in the Philippines, and the post-earthquake rehabilitation of the Palu IV Bridge in Indonesia.

He is currently a PhD Candidate at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), focusing his research on the seismic fragility and resilience of existing bridges in Indonesia. Beyond his professional practice, he is also actively engaged in knowledge sharing through technical publications, national workshops, and academic collaborations. He is also involved in community development initiatives such as the Wiratman Bridge Design Competition for university students and the Wiratman Karkasa Bridge CSR program, which provides pedestrian bridges in isolated areas around Jakarta. His career reflects a strong commitment to engineering excellence, sustainability, and advancing bridge engineering practices in Indonesia and the ASEAN region.
